This intentional movement maximises absorption of low speed linear and rotational impacts linked with Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI). ABSORBS IMPACT ENERGY
RHEON is soft and flexible in its normal state, but when it’s hit with something hard and fast it instantly but temporarily becomes stiff. RHEON™ absorbs impact energy much better than conventional materials, taking energy out of an impact so it’s not transferred to the wearer.
DEALS WITH THE UNEXPECTED
RHEON’s special “Voronoi” geometries move in different ways to deal with both rotational and linear energy. The critical sideways movement called “shear” can counter rotational forces. RHEON’s unique molecular shape (together with its patented geometries) controls rotational energy that can come at you from any direction. RHEON introduces a shear layer that helps to absorbs rotational energy. Traditional impact absorbing materials like EPS (polystyrene) often don’t move in shear at all.

RHEON absorbs and controls energy. Critically, it is able to absorb energy at different speeds too.
